The name 5boronyc was born from the five boroughs that collectively make up New York City: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens & Staten Island. 5boro was established in 1996 and has the distinct honor of being the longest continuously-running, independently owned-and-operated skateboard & apparel company in New York City's history. 5boro was founded by Steve Rodriguez, long-time friend Mark Nardelli and a crew of skateboarders all living in and around New York City. Over the past 15 years 5boro has grown from a local NYC skate crew into a worldwide tight knit family of skateboarders and designers.
