Flip was originally known as Deathbox Skateboards in the 1980’s (a term used for the swimming pool overflow channel in the form of backyard pool skating). Deathbox was renamed Flip and moved to the U.S. in 1994 and has since become one of the world's biggest and most well known skateboard companies. Some it’s original teammates in 1994 are still on the team today and are still heavily involved of Flip’s direction: Geoff Rowley, Tom Penny and Utility Pro Rune Glifberg.
