With their passion for skating, snowboarding and surfing, friends Richard “Wooly” Woolcott and Tucker “T-Dawg” Hall were inspired to start their own clothing company that represented the 3 sports. The Volcom idea incorporates a major philosophy of the times known as "Youth against Establishment". Volcom was started as a family of people who were not willing to accept the suppression of the established ways. In addition to their sponsored team of professionals, Volcom provided a platform for aspiring artists to express themselves through the “Featured Artists” line of products in 1995. That same year, their record label Volcom Entertainment was founded. Volcom’s professional team of skateboarders includes Geoff Rowley, Utility Pro Dennis Busenitz, Mark Appleyard, Ryan Sheckler, Utility Pro Rune Glifberg, Utility Pro Javier Sarmiento and more. |
